Moving from illustration to still life. Here is a piece that I worked on that is done on black paper with colored pencil. I wanted to show a reflective surface. It's funny how you begin to pick out your fruit based on how it will look painted rather than how it will taste. But it was rather tasty to eat afterward.
I like your use of reflection to add to the subject matter in the painting. The highlights and shadowing to the piece are very realistic and makes the painting look almost three dimensional. This painting looks so much like the real thing that it is making me hungry. This painting makes me think about the summer time and gives a real warm feeling to me.
